I don't see the issue with Wikipedia, I believe the inaccuracies are blown way out of proportion and everything is cited of course. Honestly I look at a science revision book and refer to Wikipedia, both convey the same thing; with Wikipedia being considerably more specific.

Finally, some people with sense! Sure, I look on there for stuff such as, like you said, jam. But if I need something for a school project or something like that, I stay far away from Wiki.

I cannot begin to imagine why people would disapprove of your comments. Everyone knows that if you want something specific, don't go anywhere near Wiki, and if it's a general topic you're after then use other resources as well. On science pages it's either inaccurate or way too specific, so for work it's often not worth looking, but for things like jam it's pretty good.
