This 3D medical animation shows the common indications for a cesarean delivery, including dystocia, placenta previa, fetal distress and multiple births. A cesarean section (c-section) surgery to deliver a baby in frank breech (feet first) position is also shown. During the procedure, the surgeon (usually an obstetrician/gynecologist, i.e. ob/gyn) makes an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus in order to deliver the baby. The animation also includes information on what to expect before and after the surgery. See more 3D medical animations from Nucleus Medical Art at http://www.nucleusinc.com/yout...

They should show this video before all c sections...I was in labor for 44 hours and then had to have a c section...It's neat to see what was actually done.

is it true that doctors suggest that you only have a c section about three times?

It's beautiful! My baby was born by caesarean section because my Pelvis was very close to the power go out and never thought it was something so beautiful to see him leave, he had seen no Caesarea peropor natural childbirth. Thank you for giving us this novelty in sight!

In reply to fantasia's question: it's better to give birth normally if you can. Labour pain MAY be intense, but when the baby is born it stops, whereas after a C section you are still in pain for several days. I know - I've had 4. It's better to have a spinal anaesthetic if you can - you recover faster, can get out of bed sooner, and you don't feel sick either. Afterwards, you cannot eat until you pass wind, in case your bowel is blocked. And the drain removal is painful! Yes, natural is best!
