They were the total prototype 'msstevie1951', which says much for the band, that so many, followed them as an archtypal style.I still treasure my copy of 'Birthday' on Dunhill. The Great Maker Smiles Upon Us, and, protects John Kay.Thanks amigo, straight roads.

fernald10...hit it right on the nail, and after he escaped to the West he created this FAB Band. Steppenwolf, a great band, who invented the phrase 'heavy metal' in 'Born To Be Wild. The first band to wear leather pants, shades, act cool and disinterested whilst performing, with that 'far off' look in their eyes, and play powerful beats. All of this in 1967/68. John Kay, probably, invented, modern rock.

John Kay (Joachim Fritz Krauledat) was born in 1944 in what was then German East Prussia, a month after his father was killed fighting for Germany in Soviet Russia.

never mind went to a club laast week. The guy mixed this track with another song with bad ass beats. WOW people were going nuts chicks filled the dance floor up. Dance beats and old school rock mixed is the best combo.
