guys, he was born in nov 1966, and died may 1997, so he was actually 30 years old when he drown in the river. Some say he committed suicide, but I guess we'll never know till we meet him on the other side

Are we still talking about Hendrix? If so, you are wrong. He was born November 27, 1942 and died September 18, 1970. If he had lived a couple of more months he would have been 28, but he was only 27 when he died.

no he was 28
imshadowynne (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
No, he was 27. Way too young, and with so much left undone as well.

He is a legend! With only one studio album he was named in Rolling Stone's list of 500 Greatest Songs (Hallelujah), 500 Greatest Albums (Grace), and 100 Greatest Singers! He was also nominated by Rolling Stone as Best New Artist in 1995, and nominated for a Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for "Everybody Here Wants You" in 1998 (obviously, posthumously). You can't get much more legendary than that! Can you imagine what he would have done in the last 11 years!?!?

Still one of the greatest singers in history. I have to believe that if he were alive today, Jeff would be a legend already.Rest in Peace buddy, you made one of the very few perfect albums

Reminiscent of Focus without the, lets say, high' vocal range!
