Good ol capt smith didnt do it on purpose. Instead they just simply pushed him to go as fast as possible through the ice berg field knowing that the Titanic had a craptastical turning speed. Then they just let the 100 to 1 odds play themselves out

yes metal is stronger than ice but the size of the iceberg that the titanic hit was quite large on that size and scale i think the iceberg did sink the titanic , if you have ever gone ice scating and scat your face you might just change your theory
