Guyinsf - Reckon you're right. Anyone who thinks Debs was ever lame needs an irony/sense of humour injection. I have to admit I wanted to ... express my love for a musical genius. Plus that keyboard player, and those two guitarists. Now just what were their names, didn't they have something to do with it? 25 tons of such talent runs on no ordinary wheels ... :-)

andreaandrewmilne,You know that when I said the dance routine was cheesy, I was talking about Janet jackson's video for Rhythm Nation or Pleasure Principal or whatever it was. I think someone said that Debbie's movements were lame and I said I liked Debbie's dance moves because it's not cheesy, overly produced like most of those MTV janet jackson stuff.

Wow, futuristic for 1976

Just read the cheesy/classic dance steps debate. Woh. Am I missing the point, or is it that Debs is sending up the whole teen "leader of the pack", "got the hots for the cop in uniform" naffness? The disparity between desire and what's acdeptable, let alone cool, is kinda, you know, one of the songs themes. Now where are those rubber boots and badges.... |
