Just get to Velociraptor 300GB drives and config them in RAID1... :PWhen you use RAID1, data writes to both drives equally, thus you have a live backup of the drive you are running your OP on. So if one fails, then it will be as if nothing has gone wrong since the second drive will run as your main drive. :D

I wonder if any of you have heard of a term called "disc rot" -- something that I believe occurred mostly with older discs. May not be the case with newer ones. In any case, so long as the media lasts 10-20 years it should be perfectly fine. Because by then you'll have to take all the crap off your discs and put them on new medias of the future.

Then backup all those backups and put half of them in a 3 foot thick steel box 1 mile under Antarctica wrapped in 300 feet of chains secured by 20 solid padlocks. Or is that going too far?

back up the back of your back up.. then back up the real back up but dont forget to back up the one you back up and lastly dont forget to back it up again just to be sure

Most of my CD's and DVD's (TDK) burned about 5-6 years ago are now unreadable.
