Wish someone would fix the synch on this. It's way off.BTW, The arrangement for this song was actually the Monkees. That famous lick was not originally a part of the song. I think it was Mike who came up with it - so, when you see him playing it in the video, it's pretty much what he did on the video (although there was more than one guitar playing it). And Davy does play guitar (it's a bass on this video). He just never did it on the show.

Well, of course they're not playing their instruments in this clip, it's a typical 60's lip synch/play synch performance that all bands and singers did at the time. Have you ever watched old clips of American Bandstand? You can count on three fingers the number of acts who actually performed their songs "live".
