I think the reason people prefer GJ's version is because it's more in tune with the 'emo' scene of today. All slow and drowsy.But this one was made in the 80's, and has that '80s chill' to it.I like both versions, but Gary Jules suits the lyrics more.

I think the dancing was that guys version of Break dancing. The trench coat with the fingerless gloves. only in the 80's.
