Most markets then would've have "The Big Three", plus a couple indie stations or a public tv channel (NET, later PBS), then you have the out-of-town stations to pick up if your antenna was strong enough for it, but that was it.I sorta miss those days when TV was of imperfection and doing things live was still possible, though I think they were taping this show by that point.

She wrote it about her dog. I remember reading that whoever wrote this song wrote it about their dog. I'm sticking to the dog story.

Interesting story but it's not true. The lead singers had nothing to due with the writing of this. Ruthann Friedman wrote this, The Association drove it to number 1 for 4 weeks, in the summer of 1967.

Noooo the song was actually about the lead singer's dog, Windy.The manager made them say it was about a woman named Windy, but it was the dog all along! The lyrics are funny to imagine a dog living it's day with this as it's theme song haha |
