I am not really a fan of metal. I listen to is about 5% of the time (I usually listen to electronica...NOT the shit they spew out these days so don't annoy me with that), but Bathory is one FUCKING amazing band.

Blood eagle is a form of viking torture where they pin a man on his belly and break his ribs. After they cut the skin down the spine and salt the wound. After salting they would pull the ribs out of the wound and the ribcage outside of the body looked like eagle wings. Therefore it was called a blood eagle. If the victim was unfortuately still alive, the vikings would pull out the lungs thus killing him. Its pretty ugly if you imagine it.
