F-14 Tomcat officially ended it's tour of service with the United States Navy on December 26, 2006. Movie fans will remember the F-14 from the 1980's movie Top Gun.The F-14 joined the Navy on December 21th, 1970 and served honorably for 36 years. High maintanence and operation costs were stated as the primary reason. The F-18 will probably take over the F-14 mission.Good News, the F-14 will still be around for a while. Several allied country's still want our Fighter Jet. The F-14 is still flying high, somewhere! The Comments Section is open, you're welcome to add your facts!

no one checks the money the military uses, and there is no track record. a video on my favorites says something about it, the day before sept 11 too

I know. I was being a smart ass about the amount of money we've spent on the B-2 program. Course having them isnt a bad thing. But damn.

warp drive is still fantasy for us. anti-gravity is very different from anti-matter. anti-gravity is what allows it to be undectable by radar, and that you dont see resistance when going faster than the speed of sound. several hundred years later people will laugh and say hahhaha i can't believe we used to use fuel to push the vehicle into the opposite direction, it's so inefficient!

At 2.2 billion fucking dollars PER aircraft you would think the B-2 had matter/anti-matter reactors and warp drive capability.

b-2 is better, it uses T.t brown's principles of antigravity

I know someone who used to fly a f14...his words when they retired it will never leave my head...."It was one of the most beautiful works of art created by man, I love my jet and i hate to know that i won't be fling her agin, she was good to me and i even named her...It was my elenore..." The F-14 will be in the history books as one of the most famous and most respected planes out there... I love the video and am happy someone loves these planes as much as i do..
