Many of the English words that starts with kn comes from Norwegian. Knife comes from the Norwegian word kniv.

There's gn- as in gnosticism, pronounced nosti-sizm; though, oddly, both g and n are spoken in the word agnostic.

think of "scissors"... what is actually pronounced? the "S" as if it were a soft "C" sorta, wouldn't you say?? my teacher in 11th grade and I would play around and actually say "Skizzers" when saying it - pronouncing it a little literally :)
