from reason.tvIn this classic O'Reilly Factor segment, Reason's Jacob Sullum enters the "no-spin zone" to discuss his book, Saying Yes: In Defense of Drug Use. Highlights include O'Reilly calling Sullum a "pinhead" and warning him to "stay away from my family." Much of the action happens after the host lets Sullum have the last word. Enjoy!

woah woah woah, I wouldnt ever wish for someone to die, thats to harsh Id rather let them live to see how wrong they are. Otherwise whats the point of proving your on inherent point of being right? ya know? Never wish for someone to die anyway, its not practical

I think you're missing the point. Of course these drugs can be addictive, of course these drugs have addictive properties, but just because they do doesn't mean the very second you prescribe to them you're hooked and your life is ruined. We waste too much time and money cracking down on people who choose to pursue and take these drugs rather than focus on people who are directly hurting other people. It's like prohibition, it merely causes more trouble than it's worth.

haha i love how right wing nut bars call someone too liberal or a libertine like its a bad thing. careful now, dont get too free or you might realize what freedoms you are actually missing. remember as the great George Carlin said " you have no rights, you have privileges."

Plenty of hippies on this page I see. I hope that author addresses how lethal and addictive some of these drugs are. It's not just enjoying an altered mood every once in a while the way he paints it.
