tone is in the fingers ;bto an extent, obviously a strat wont sound like an LPbut the differences in tone from one artist to the other can largly be contributed to how they play and not what they play, which is why even if you were to set up EXACTLY as hendrix did, i mean with same gear he used could you find it, and could play the same, it would still sound very different than hendrix

whats with all of this better equipment crap. I thought vintage guitars and marshalls were sought after to get that legendary tone. Am I wrong? Is that why people pay THOUSANDS to get reissues of their favorite gear and pay hundreds of thousands to get the real vintage stuff. Sure we have better PA's now but lets face it the "gear" back then was better.

well all you need is a gibson or a fender straight into a marshall and thats what hendrix did thats what practically everyone does still too.

I agree with you 100%, however, who is playing in this clip? Thats right, Gary Moore. Not stevie ray. This in entirely my opinion about this peice of footage. Tone is personal taste. I happen to love Stevie tone also. But come on man. why being up something so trivial.

=( you made me remember that jimi is dead... i already knew he was dead but i dont think about it ...wow if he was alive for just a few more decades we would have more epic guitar tracks. He'd probably innovate something spectacular like a new guitar technique. |
