great post, none knows the answer to those questions, but then again should we care or not care about answering them? maybe those questions are like stones in the way of the water stream, but then again the stream is shaped by rocks and rocks are shaped by the erosion of the stream so there we go again :)

the label 'zen' is just that, a label to serve as a reference point for others. you are right that in clinging to such titles can happen. Yet, its known that you do not need to fly the zen buddhist flag or label yourself as such to understand. I'd say that most people that come to understand, only call themselves zen buddhist reluctantly and more so use it as the label for reference that it is. The truth is that to communicate we need labels, but i think you get it. this is just to clarify =D
