I would assume BJJ, Sambo, or Judo as the most powerful skills to take down any sized person. Drunken Monkey is more standup, and NinJutsu I believe isn't a martial art. I plan to continue to take classes, mainly for exercise, but there is skill in every martial art, so to each their own.

Ninjitsu isn't a martial art.

capoeira can be very useful in any situation. the media is trying to get us to think beating the shit out of someone is the way to go. not ture at all. confusing and overpowering your opponent will ensure a victory. capoeira, drunkin monkey and ninjitsu have the most useful and most powerful skills to take down any sized person or persons. i hope you will continue your teaching of capoeira :)

Just had my first class about 4 hours ago. My feet are absolutely burning from constantly doing the "jinga". The moves are definetely all about rythym and seem fun to practice. I've had Muay Thai experience and I just can't see how this style could be effective in a live situation. Yeah the kicks are flashy and would be effective, but this wouldn't be my "meat & potatoes" of self defense, lot of fun to try, good constant movement n exercise

Good luck man...the first practice will be one of the most tiring things you have ever done, your feet will get covered in blisters and your body will hurt for days...but it still will be fun lol

I've said it before, this can be a great style to train in but looks hard as hell to keep the rythm smooth especially after impact.

Of course you can hurt someone with copeira. It even has deadly kicks. Its obvious they dont kill them selvs in training or?! tz geese I do capoeira and if you do serious and fast it hurts like hell! This is just training thats why its so slow. In real combat its very very fast. |
