I love my family, parents, wife, friends, but I've never loved anyone the way I love Jaco. Respect.

Jaco played the space man. It emphasizes the groove a lot more when he comes back does it not?

I believe the steel drummer is Othello Molineaux (spelling?). Jaco loved the sound of the steel drum and originally wrote his Holiday For Pans album to feature Molineaux. It's a great show of traditionally non-jazz instruments used in jazz. This song has a calypso-jazz feel in the congas and bass, but Molineaux played with the band on other albums and tours as well. |
