Reminds me of my first true love as a high school junior in New York - a beautiful Greek immigrant girl. We were in love, but her ethnocentric father disapproved of my Irish-American background. He wanted his daughter to date "a nice Greek boy" (my once threatening to kick his ass didn't help matters). We broke up; she moved to California and eventually found a Greek husband. It was, though, with a touch of conceit, that I read her father's obituary in the paper about a year ago.
