I think the pants to knickers one is so funny I had to comment on it. Correct me if I'm wrong about what you meant; You say 'pants', we say 'trousers'. We call our underwear 'pants' and a 'knickers' is a specific for a lady's pants. You don't want to be stealing knickers (or nicking knickers) because that is perverted and just plain weird.
