The FHS is a pretty good idea, but I think it makes it way too hard to install / remove programs. I don't like having to have an entire package manager program just to shuffle files around. The filesystem should be easier to use than this.

I'm not teaching you Linux.Good luck paying for Windows again and again.

nicely done,I agree - the fact that in Linux a directory (mount-point) could be a SAN drive or just another directory on the local drivevs Windows, where the entire file system has to be on a single devicemakes Linux so superior

Very nicely done.It seemed almost like I was "reading" this tutorial as a book. You have a really good "reading" voice.

Ok, ok I'm sorry. I take it all back, I'm just a bit too passionate about my views sometimes.

mmmmmm. Not realy the correct forum, but here goes! I still do not believe you go about talking to people you meet like you "talk" here. Calling people "retards" and "braindead" face to face is not a smart thing to do. Clearly you are very well educated, best use that education for the good hey! ;)

I can answer that one for you, easily. I would tell you the same thing face to face and I have told many people the same thing face to face regarding my opinions on what linux is becomming. As far as anonymity is concerned: My name is Shane Scott I live at 2 Oak Street, Cape Town, South Africa. By the way 'bravely hiding' is an oxymoron.

Or maybe he is not lending too much space, just the minimum 4 GB.

I wonder if you would talk like that face to face, or are you bravely hiding behind anonymity. |
