money can be anything, who needs money. the thing is money buys you the things you need in life. gold/silver have the properties of money. (store of value, medium of exchange, measure of value, etc) that is why it has been used as money even before christ for 5000+ years. money is money it does not matter whether we have deflation/hyperinflation, gold will have its value. i can go on about the whole deflation thing, but will stop. all i do, is hope you buy some.

Roubini is not a woman, though! I'm seeing gold bugs all over the place, to me that's a contra-indicator. There is no such thing as "real money". Gold is a precious metal - that's all. What also makes me suspicious about gold bugs, is that they talk in slogans "hedge against inflation", "fiat currency" etc.Inflation must stop at some point, otherwise the system will go bankrupt. This inflation doesn't come from the demand side, it's purely specultive. In wages we have stagnation / deflation!
